My Booga

My new favorite picture of Noah!

Photo Op

I just have to share this series of pictures because this is what happens every time I  try to get a picture of the boys together.  They were sitting together on my dad's thinking rock, the light was perfect, I ran for my camera and this is what happened...
I love all the different faces and expressions and I guess a picture of the two of them sitting quietly and smiling nicely would not be a very accurate portrait of them anyway :)

They had enough and jumped up to yell at the fish instead, boys
will be boys, I don't know what I was expecting!!!

It's Raining

Noah has found a new favorite game at Nonnie and Papa's house!  Apparently he wants it to rain even when we actually have a rain free day...  When you jump on the base of my brother's basketball hoop water shoots out of the little hole and sprays straight up into the air creating "rain".  The boys thought this was the funniest thing ever and were creating their own rain storms all afternoon.  It was actually a really nice day but you would never guess that based on these pictures!
Completely soaked...  He made us all go in and put
on our rain coats so we did not get caught
in the storm!!!

Silas is trying to catch the rain in his wheelbarrow!

Just a little bit excited and dripping wet by this point!!!
When he took off his boots to come in they were
completely full of water...

Spring Art

Noah has been super busy with all kinds of art projects at school and with friends! Our house is looking very festive and ready for Easter this weekend!!!
He colored Easter Eggs with Aiden last week!

His pom pom flower!

They have been learning about weather at school and this is his rain cloud!

Here is his little Easter chick, he is very proud of the
fact that he glued it all together himself!

Stained glass egg!

This was their project today at school.  They even got to pick jelly beans
to put in the egg.  Noah is saving the candy for when daddy gets home so
we can all share them together, so thoughtful!
** We do try to do art project with Silas too but for some reason he finds any kind of crayon, marker, paint, glue etc. to be delicious and always ends up with a mouth full of craft supplies...

Silas @ 2

Wow, that went by fast... Hard to believe we now have a two year old and a three year old living under this roof, watch out!!!  It amazes me every day how completely opposite our two boys are but yet they can't stand to be without each other.  It is the sweetest thing ever, it definitely keeps life exciting and me on my toes!!!

So here is Silas in a nutshell at age 2!

Height - 38 1/4 inches tall (100%)
Weight - 27 lb 9 oz (45%)

Favorite Toys - Thomas, anything he can drive, he loves school buses and police cars (blue lights) and basically wants to do whatever Noah is doing!

Favorite Books - Freight Train, Goodnight Moon, Peekaboo Farm, 10 Minutes till Bedtime, anything Thomas or train related

Favorite Movies - Cars, Robots & Bugs Life

Music - Pretty much anything he can dance to, the kid seriously loves to dance and has some pretty impressive moves!

Food - Chicken, beans, rice, ice cream, any kind of berries, cheese and he is pretty much in love with Jamba Juice!

Silas talks nonstop and it is so nice that we can finally understand pretty much everything he says.  He says "please" anytime he asks for anything and recently started saying "thank you Momma" and "thanks"!!!  Gotta love those manners!  He is completely outgoing and will talk to anyone that will listen.  He is always saying hi to everyone and soaks up any attention he can get!  Serious flirt alert!!!!

He still sleeps with Gu (his blanket) and choo choo Gu every night.  He usually sleeps from about 8:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. every night, unless Noah gets up earlier and decides that Silas needs to be up too.  He loves nap time and pretty much asks to go down for his nap every day around 1:30ish if I have not put him down already.

He is seriously stubborn and wants to do what he wants to do.  He is not shy about having a complete melt down anywhere and everywhere (an experience I never had with Noah)...  He loves to play outside but the end result is always me carrying a screaming kicking Silas into the house when it is time to come in.  Noah calls it "taking a temper tantrum" :)

We found out that Silas is completely petrified of bugs, ladybugs in particular...  My dad caught a ladybug and brought it over to show the boys last weekend and you would have thought it was the boogie man himself attacking him.  Even after the bug was outside it took forever to calm him down.  I thought maybe it was a fluke but the next day there was another ladybug in the guest room and Silas went nuts again.  We'll see how that goes this summer, hopefully he can get over his fear of the big scary ladybugs!!!

Here are a few more pictures my friend Sara took of Silas!!!  Our big little man!

It is so appropriate that some of these are in the bushes.
Silas loves the to play in any trees or bushes he can find!
He and Noah call our front yard the forest and spend hours running
around in the bushes and playing in the dirt...

 So cute!!!
He loves balance beams, anything that he can
walk in a line on is a balance beam, even if it is just a printed line
on the street or floor!
Cheese!

Trip Down South

The boys and I headed down to Nonnie and Papa's house a couple weeks ago to let Ryan have a "man weekend" at our house.  The first of two and I think I should probably be receiving some kind of wife of the year award for offering up our house for these events...  Anyway, we had lots of fun and tried to get out of the house for a walk or two whenever the rain let up.  There was lots of puddle stomping and several outfit changes per day but the boys had a blast getting dirty!!
One of their neighbors has a swing set that Noah calls the play ground!
We had to stop at the playground each time we went on a walk.

Just getting started!

He was soaked from head to toe by the time we headed home!

Ready for a game of chase!

Reading a book to his brother, so sweet!!!

I just love Noah's face in this one!

The boys love these windows by the front door.
They are always sitting or standing in them!
Silas was standing here yelling "go outside please" as loud as he could!

Noah is not fitting as nicely as he used to...

My Sweet Booga
He looks so grown up in this one!

Silas and the silly face!

Thomas Party

Silas has been talking about having a Thomas party for months now.  Every time we mentioned his birthday or any birthday for that matter he would say Thomas party and get really excited.  So of course we had to have a Thomas themed birthday for him!  We kept it super simple this year and just had some family over for a little BBQ and cake, the house still ended up looking like a bomb went off but I am assuming a good time was had by all, especially our little two year old!!!  I took way too many pictures and had a hard time picking so here it goes...
The Thomas Cake!

Pushing his giant Thomas balloon around like a car on the floor!

Jack decided to take charge and show Silas how to get it done!!!
The first gift Silas opened was a little school bus and firetruck from Uncle Dusty
and Erika and once he started playing with those he was not interested in
anything else that was going on!!

Until the mower was opened...
The face of excitement and happiness!

Hurry up Papa!!!

I can't believe he left the hat on for as long as he did!

Noah's quickly became an ice cream cone...

More interested in the frosting than the burning candles!
Notice there are four candles on the cake...  Noah so badly wanted to be in charge
of putting the candles on the cake but because he got to do it Silas needed
to do it too, so we ended up with four!

Gotta have cupcakes too!

After the birthday boy went down for his nap
we had a Wii extravaganza!  Here Noah is trying to
teach Uncle Dusty about jousting!

The aftermath...

Up from his nap and still ready to party!!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Silas!!!

Pictures!!!

My friend Sara is in the process of starting her own photography business and asked if the boys and I would like to stop by sometime for her to snap a few pictures... Of course I jumped at the chance for some beautiful pictures of my boys!!!!  It was a super cold and rainy day and the boys got a little wet, cold and needless to say difficult but the pictures still turned out amazing (you would never guess that the trip ended in a complete melt down with both boys screaming all the way to the car)!  Here are a few of my favorites!
Thanks for the pictures Sara, I LOVE them!!!!
