ABC's & 123's

We have been singing the ABC's to Noah since he was a baby and every time we have asked him to sing his ABC's with us he would just say ABCD and that was it. Last night we were sitting at the dinner table and he said the entire alphabet out of nowhere! Such a smart little man! Who knows what other things are churning around in there just waiting to come out!

His teacher told me today that Noah is becoming quite the social kid in the class. This totally shocked me since he is usually so quiet and shy around most people but she said he is really coming out of his shell and is joining in and playing really well with the other kids!! Hooray!!!

Where are the pictures???

There might be a little lag in pictures for the next week, our camera completely stopped working the other night... So frustrating, it was not even two years old and was a pretty nice camera. We did some checking and it sounds like it is a common problem with this camera and it costs $200-$400 to have it fixed, so not cool. We ordered a smaller camera to tie us over for a while and I might just have to get that new Nikon SLR I have had my eye on for a while...
My very own Handy Manny dismantled the old camera (I am not too sure what he was looking for) but when Mr. Fix-it was done the camera ended up in the trash can, oh well, I guess it had a good run!

Happy Earth Day

School Days

Noah is doing amazing at school this week!!! He cried for a couple minutes when I left on Tuesday and was fine the rest of the time and not a tear today!!! He told me on the way there that he was going to be happy at school today and it sounds like he did awesome!! Hooray!!! Teacher Sasha said that he played hard, ate his snacks and his lunch and had a blast without being upset once. When I picked him up he told me he had fun at school today and that he did not cry and was happy the whole time! That makes me so happy too :)
He made this bee last week and is totally obsessed with his very own Barry Bee Benson and loves to point out that bees don't wear shoes...

Still loves stickers!

Cozy Coupe Love

Our dining room has officially become a parking garage... The boys each have their own Cozy Coupe now along with the rocket, firetruck etc. Oh lucky me! Just kidding, they love their cars and trucks and spend hours running around with them every day so who needs a dining room right??? Silas has not quite figured his out yet but he loves pushing Noah around and being pushed around by Noah, I just love to see them play together!

Silas has the most mischievous looks ever... It is cute now but I think it will mean trouble someday :)

My Little Gardeners!

I can't get enough of our yard, I LOVE it!!! I just want to work out there constantly and plug away at whatever I can find to do. Once I get started with a pair of clippers I can't stop! The boys are also loving it and Noah is quite the little helper! The Easter Bunny brought him his very own rake and shovel so he follows me around and rakes and digs up the flower beds (huge help)! Silas on the other hand prevents me from doing anything outside when he is awake. He is into everything and has no digression as to what he puts in his mouth. The brick wall by the patio is going to cause some bumps and bruises this summer along with the exposed rock pathways. Luckily Silas is a tough little guy and does not seem to care about the scrapes and bonks...

My Sweet Booga!!

I know these are all about the same but they are all so cute and it is very rare that Noah will stand and let me take his picture so I could not choose! I love the pouty face in the first one!

School Day Two

According to his teacher, Noah did way better today! He was there for two hours and she said he went an entire hour without crying once during that time! He did cry periodically before and after that hour but she said it was nothing like the first day and he calmed down really easy!!! Hope he keeps it up! He came home with his first school project today too! We are going to try going more frequently for shorter periods of time until he gets a little more used to it then we will start his regular schedule. So that means he gets to go to school again tomorrow before gym class, it is going to be a busy morning but I am sure it will make for a good nap too :)

Silas @ 12 Months

Silas had his 12 month check up today and everything went great (except the five shots he had to get). He weighs 22 lbs 2 oz (39%) and is 33 inches tall (99%), still the tall skinny one! The doctor said everything looks and sounds great and he could even see inside his ears, a very rare occurrence with these two boys and their earwax... I had prepped Noah for the shots because he usually gets really upset when Silas cries a lot so we had discussed it in the car on the way there and when shot time came Noah rubbed Silas's head and said "it's OK Silas" how sweet is that!!!

Silas is eating mostly finger foods now with very little baby food. He loves garden burgers, any kind of meat, cauliflower, broccoli, cheese and toast. He is consistently sleeping through the night pretty much every night and is taking one or two naps totaling at least three hours (lucky momma here :) He is so close to walking, we actually saw him take two steps tonight so I am thinking it is going to be any day now, watch out! He also climbs up and down the stairs by himself, really fast, a little too fast sometimes! He says, momma, daddy & dada, light, milk, whas that, fish and this. I think he might have been trying to say Noah today but it was coming out Nuh.

Quiet house = trouble
*Funny Noah story - Noah brought his Handy Manny laptop with him to the doctors office and when Dr. Nash asked him what he was doing on there he said he was doing some bankruptcies. The doctor looked at me funny and said I am assuming someone in the family works in finances, not a lot of two year olds talk bankruptcy...

School Day

Today was Noah's first day of school!!! We decided it is time for him to go just a couple days a week to get out of the house and around some other kids on a regular basis. The plan is for him to go on Mondays and Thursdays for a few hours... He lasted about an hour and a half today before they called me to come get him. They said he was fine for the first 20 minutes but then started crying and saying he wanted his mama :( Apparently the crying did not stop him from running around and playing, he was just bawling while he was doing it, double sad face! I talked to his teacher about it and she said we'll just keep trying and because it is his first time away from home it could take him a few weeks to get adjusted. So I guess we'll try again later this week and hope he calms down a little better next time! His teacher was really impressed with how well he knows his colors, shapes and letters so that was cool!

Ready to go! He was really excited about it when we left the house. We've been talking about school for the past couple weeks trying to get him ready for it!
Lunch was packed although he did not make it until lunch time, oh well! Maybe next time!
Giving daddy bye bye hugs!

p.s. The big red blotch on his chin is road rash from Silas's new slide. Noah took a header and scraped all the skin off his chin, it looks super painful but does not seem to be bothering him too much.

Happy Easter

We had a pretty mellow Easter around here. My parents and brothers stayed Saturday night and we had a big brunch Easter morning before they all headed back down to Eugene. The Easter Bunny left a bag of goodies for the boys and then came back and hid some eggs during nap time!
FOUND ONE!!!!
Silas and I watched from the sidelines!

Checking out his treats!
Sharing his raisins with daddy!

Brothers

I took Noah shopping a couple weeks ago to pick out a special gift to give to Silas but soon realized that taking a two year old to pick out a gift for his pesky little brother is not a good idea especially when it involves the toy department... He finally chose something and with only a couple melt downs we made it out of Target. I risked asking Noah to help wrap the gift, ready for another melt down to get the toy out of the box, but he got so excited about it and we had lots of fun making wrapping paper and picking out bows!
Helping Silas open his present!
In addition to the new "spinner toy" Noah got Silas a pair of cool new jammers!

Happy Birthday Silas!!!

It is so hard to believe that we now have a one year old and a two year old, where did the time go??? Silas turned one on Saturday and had a great celebration with lots of family and friends! He has his 12 month check up tomorrow so I will post about all that fun stuff later. Here are some pictures from his party! It was hard to narrow it down so there are quite a few...

Ryan helping Silas with his gifts! In the middle of all the kiddo chaos!
All the cake!!!

Silas did not mess around with his cake, he was flinging and rubbing it everywhere. We gave them baths last night and there was still a frosting ring around the tub. It does not want to go away! (although it is not as bad as the blue Cookie Monster frosting from Noah's #2 party :)

So handsome, even covered in frosting!
