YLP Art Gala

To end The Week of the Young Child the boy's school had a giant art gala!  This was not a little makeshift preschool event...  The entire school was transformed into an art gallery,  it was amazing!  Every student at the entire school had a unique piece of art on display and each class had it's own classroom art project.    Since Teacher Candice had to work (mostly mingling and taking lots of pics of the event), and Ryan was out of town, Nonnie came up to stay for the night and brought the boys for a bit!  It was amazing to see how excited all of the kids were to see their art and be at the school "after hours" :)

their hand prints on the piece of driftwood and then they
each painted a sand dollar with water colors.

Noah's class project!  While they were studying the Oregon Trail
they learned about weaving and used a giant loom to make
this.  Each child wrote their name on one of the bright orange
and yellow ribbons and wove them in.

In addition to live music and snacks there was some cool crafts for the kids!

And Noah even got to see his best friend Parker who stopped by
for a cookie after his Karate testing that night!

Week of the Young Child

All week at school we have been celebrating The Week of the Young Child and the boys have been feeling pretty special!  The kids had a light (aka glow stick) parade at school on Monday, Tuesday was school spirit day (we wore our YLP tie dye shirts), Wednesday was all about music with a special music performance/assembly and today was crazy day!  I love letting the boys create their own fun crazy outfits for these occasions!  They both wanted blue hair and to wear multiple shirts (Noah wore one of daddy's) and of course mismatched shoes! Tomorrow night is the big art gala at the school so I'll have some fun pics to post from that for sure!

They do have shorts on under their shirt skirts :)

Spring Pictures

I love that the boys school does fall and spring pictures.  I know a lot of parents think it is ridiculous but I love to see how they have changed throughout the school year!
